Things I’m Thankful For This Year: The SFGiants World Series

The ultimate thing I am thankful for this year, besides my family and friends, is being able to witness the SF Giants win the World Series … this time in person!

Taste

-KFC
-Cheese. All of the cheeses.
-Crumble on apple crumble pie
-Pork belly.
-Pickle backs.

Touch

-My bed after a long day.
-Champagne showers after the Giants World Series win.
-Sticky floors of dive bars.
-The handoff of your Seamless delivery from your delivery man’s hands into yours.
-JP Morgan fleece zip ups (it’s that time of year).

Smell

-Jo Malone.
-Your hair after a long night at the bars (you know what I mean? It can tell you exactly where you’ve been).
-A business man’s aftershave on the train ride to work.
-Egg & cheese sandwiches (both hungover and sober).
-Fresh laundry (granted your laundry does not get wrecked by cheap washer/dryer machine and come out dripping – leaving you with soggy laundry… big difference).

Sight

-Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, which is a visual masterpiece for those who don’t already know.
Sex and the City marathons. Does a dog shit?
-Anna Wintour’s bob. Hereby proclaiming a style bible / style uniform is not only fashionable but essential.
-My new apartment when its done at the end of the months!
Homeland. Peter Quinn / Rupert Friend for that matter. That’s a sight.

Sound

-NPR’s Serial podcast / Sarah Koenig’s voice.
-Banks’ Goddess album.
-Mike Krukow & Duane Kuiper’s voice on KNBR. Especially when Joe Buck’s voice starts to get tiresome (which is always).
-MARIAH CAREY’S ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS! ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR BITCHES!
-Lou Holtz blabbering nonsense all the time.
